Lee Cronin, the director of Evil Dead Rise, is set to revive The Mummy franchise with a fresh and terrifying take. Scheduled to release on April 17, 2026, this new adaptation promises a darker and more intense interpretation of the classic tale.
Cronin described the project as a unique vision: “This will be unlike any Mummy movie you ever laid eyeballs on before.” Backed by New Line Cinema, Blumhouse Productions, and Atomic Monster, the film aims to deliver a chilling experience that redefines the franchise.
Currently in pre-production, the cast has yet to be announced. Fans are speculating about the possibility of Brendan Fraser, the star of the 1999 adaptation, making a return in some capacity.
